Community Development Associate

A Community Development Associate is primarily responsible for recruiting attendees to participate in Endeavor Business Media’s wide variety of hosted buyer events, across a variety of private and municipal verticals. Each event is a curated business-to-business Summit that brings together a select group of industry leaders, decision-makers, and vendors for a multi-day opportunity to network, converse, and learn from each other. These Summits are currently held virtually, with plans to return to being in-person when it is safe.  

 

This position is expected to bring in qualified attendees by engaging with industry leaders about the Summit across phone and email, and build credibility, urgency, and enthusiasm with these potential delegates.  

 

This position will also work in concert with the marketing, research, event operations, and sales teams to implement best practices for obtaining delegates to attend the Summits.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • Reach out to potential delegates via phone and email and encourage them to apply for attendance at Endeavor’s Summit events, maintaining high volumes of calls and tailored email correspondence 

  • Identify prospective new delegates and update records accordingly 

  • Be a source of advocacy and knowledge about the Summits 

  • Be able to converse easily with potential delegates using familiar industry terms in order to make connections and determine delegate eligibility 

  • Keep accurate database records on interactions with potential delegates 

  • Draft phone scripts, email templates, reference materials, and other documents as required 

  • Communicate with other team members and supervisors on an open and consistent basis 

Education/Special Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially over the phone or in a virtual setting 

  • Ability to consistently make outbound phone calls and maintain a pleasant, professional, and persuasive demeanor 

  • Ability to work independently to manage workflow and work under pressure 

  • Excellent time-management skills, whether day-to-day or during “crunch” time 

  • Detail-oriented and meticulous record-keeping abilities 

  • Ability to travel throughout the year (upon the return of in-person events), 5% of the year

  • Background in sales, communications, customer service, live events, or marketing 

  • Experience creating and modifying written copy
