This Research Director role will focus on not only managing the research team and projects but building future vision for Endeavor Business Media research division and responsibility for driving new research business through our sales team and your own business development efforts. 

The ideal candidate will have a background in leading research team along with experience working directly with customer and sales teams. Must have the ability to think analytically and creatively with keen sense of ownership and entrepreneurial spirt. 

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead strategist on the Research team to map out future vision for growing our research business through our current and newly created product suite.  

  • Partner with sales leaders to drive revenue growth in the key vertical segments.

  • Secure and retain business through professional, consultative, and proactive sales activities.

  • Direct multiple complex research projects simultaneously as well as large and complex initiatives.

  • Analyze/interpret data, draw business inferences and clearly articulate findings for target audience.

  • Direct and/or perform a variety of quantitative and qualitative research projects and along with advanced statistical analyses

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners.

  • Partner with peers and leaders across the company to ensure consistency and alignment where appropriate.

  • Travel to trade shows and other customer meetings to showcase research capabilities.  (when travel resumes)


Job Specific Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external

  • Strategic thinker that can develop larger strategy but develop executable plan measurable metrics to execute those plans and deliver benefits.

  • Experience building and managing a research P&L and team members.

  • Experience in working with customers– including prospecting, relationship building and project management.

  • Must feel comfortable presenting research capabilities via conference call or eventually in person.

  • Ability to read/revise/review a statistical software program

  • Ability to create or direct the development of programs from scratch.

  • Demonstrates excellent ability and knowledge of database principles, data profiling, statistics and insurance-related data modeling and can apply this knowledge in the most complex situations.

  • Develops or directs individuals who develop new approaches, methods or policies in the area.

  • Is recognized as an expert, internally and/or externally.
